Safety Meetings

Want to have a safe excavating season this year? Contact CBYD to attend one of our monthly safety meetings or register online by clicking on Special Events under the Education Tab. Meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month and discuss in detail CBYD regulations and requirements. This is your chance to have questions answered and learn more about the CBYD underground utility damage prevention program. There is no charge and the meeting runs about 90 minutes so that you have plenty of time to get back to work. Also, the State of Connecticut Public Utility Regulatory Authority(PURA) employs a full time representative that can come out to your workplace and provide an expanded safety program exclusively for your organization. PURA will review CBYD state regulations, show CBYD's new safety awareness video, discuss compliance & enforcement measures, and end with questions and answers. PURA is also available for evening engagements to address special interest groups or associations.

Please note - Should you request CBYD or the PURA to attend a safety presentation at your facility, please be certain to reserve a minimum of 1 hour for our comprehensive safety presentation. To ensure maximum effectiveness of our program to your group, consider a morning program rather than afternoon. Due to the number of requests we receive, CBYD requires a minimum of twenty (20) attendees to the scheduled meeting however PURA is more flexible.
