WELCOME
2025 Call Before You Dig Underground Safety Conference
Call Before You Dig’s primary function is to operate a central clearinghouse responsible for receiving, handling and promptly dispatching tickets to public utilities. In addition to operating the clearinghouse, Call Before You Dig (CBYD) is required to provide educational programs for the benefit of excavators and public utilities. CBYD has developed an online self-paced safety course. The Excavator Education Course covers a wide range of information including the CBYD process, excavation planning, excavation best practices and Connecticut rules and regulations. After completion of the course and exam, learners will receive a certificate acknowledging their successful completion. In addition to the direct link above, the online course can be accessed from the CBYD website.
Today’s in-person training conference will provide you with information that hopefully will strengthen your awareness of the damage prevention program and serve as a reminder of how important it is to follow the regulations, develop best practices and get home safely at the end of every day. Your engagement in the program both online and in today’s in-person presentation is essential if we are to have success protecting the public and preventing damages. Thank you and stay safe!
In addition to today’s speakers, I would also like to thank the Connecticut Construction Industries Association staff for their efforts coordinating the event.
