Why Use CBYD?

The most important first step! Always contact CBYD before work begins so underground utilities are located and marked. Smart, safe digging is no accident.

  • Available 24/7
  • Duplicate information carries over for multiple tickets
  • Automatic email confirmation with ticket number, start date/time, and notified utilities

E-Ticket Entry Requirements

Start Date: Submit routine tickets at least two full working days in advance (not counting weekends or holidays) and no more than 30 days before excavation. Tickets submitted after 11:59 p.m. roll forward one day.

Your registered excavator details will default into each ticket. If you are not the excavator, enter the name of the company doing the work. Please read and accept CBYD Terms & Conditions before submitting.

Quick Guide to New Online Users

The following quick guide will help you get online and working faster than ever before.

  1. Go Online and Register: Contractors and Homeowners can now go to www.cbyd.com and get a user registration. This will be different from your Contractor Number (if you have one from CBYD's old system). The registration process will require some information from you so that we can provide updates on tickets or allow utilities to communicate with you directly.
  2. You Are Ready: Once you have logged in or completed registration you will arrive at the Start Console. You can start a new Ticket, view past Tickets and manage your registration information with Call Before You Dig.
  3. Describe Your Ticket: Provide dates, nature of work, urgency, and specifics so Utilities can plan safe responses.
  4. Map Your Ticket: Search for a location, draw the work area, confirm the address, and add notes to help Utilities understand your project.
  5. Confirmation: After submission, Utilities are notified. You’ll receive a confirmation with Ticket Number and notified Utilities. Review carefully.

Remember!

Follow Connecticut State Laws for all excavations. Do not begin work until utilities have marked their facilities or contacted you. If damage occurs, notify the utility immediately. Emergency tickets require direct utility contact.
